A brief history towards a new human being

A brief history towards a new human being

The day is cloudy and cold, but the group of men about to depart must search for food. The women work and chat as they prepare the meager supplies for the children, adults, and elders in the cave that serves as their shelter. One of the men mentions that he inadvertently found a shorter, though slightly more dangerous, route to hunt game; others suggest the routes their ancestors taught them, where cliffs, crags, rivers, trees, and other features of the landscape guide them. Meanwhile, in the shelter, an elderly woman teaches how to treat certain wounds by macerating herbs, or which leaves to use for stomach aches, and one of the mothers teaches the children how to light and maintain a fire.

All of them, in this hypothetical situation, with their different experiences and perspectives—some solitary, others shared by groups—have one thing in common: we have managed to survive as a species by combining our decisions, uniting individual experience and reflection to influence the decisions of a group, and conversely, dialogue and analysis with a sense of solidarity within a group influences individual decisions. Thus, sharing the intangible aspects of ideas and experiences, as well as the tangible, is what has made certain societies great.

Therefore, striving to bring forth the ancient wisdom of sharing, individually and collectively, knowledge about how to improve our health and that of those around us based on a balanced diet and energy, and generating through reflection, action in favor of humanity, is the ultimate goal to which we should aspire in these difficult times that humanity is experiencing.
