Master Eusebio

Eusebio, whose name could be Juan, José, or any other name—it's not the most important thing, because, as the poet said, "and being happy is my defining characteristic" —earned a degree as a Technician in Electronics during his formal academic career. He later pursued studies in electrical engineering, which he did not complete, and gained experience in the field of telephony and in the instrumentation department of state-owned oil companies for nine years in his native country, which could be any in Central or South America.

He later retired, choosing to live in a beautiful mountain farming area relatively close to the city, where he worked in the private sector repairing and maintaining computer hardware and peripherals. With some English language skills, developed partly through experience and partly through academic study, he had the enriching opportunity, guided by a close friend with a PhD in chemistry, to translate scientific material classified in the field of pharmacology.

Rural life increasingly attracted and captivated him, and to earn a living, he entered the world of teaching. This led him to pursue university studies, earning a degree in Social Pedagogy to better structure his teaching experience. This allowed him to develop a more universal educational perspective, enabling him to break down academic rigidity and appreciate the lessons learned from children, adolescents, and adults through the simplicity and challenges of rural life.

As a child, he was influenced by Latin American folk and universal poetry from his father, and by folk singing from his mother. Thus, in his adolescence, he taught himself to play the guitar and sing folk songs. He uses these cultural tools to engage his students in the mountains, showing them, through folk art, the richness and diversity of his country's culture and contributing to their literacy development through song and poetry.

This wealth of empirical and academic experience continues to be his tools for helping children and young people who visit him to request his help and advice in various areas of primary and secondary education, even after retiring from formal educational activity.

Now, Eusebio collaborates with us at Efika Health from a distance, but with the rhythm of his heart in time with ours, transmitting his life experiences.
