The combination of Reishi, Shiitake and Maitake and its powerful boost to immunomodulatory action
It is well known that medicinal mushrooms contain a variety of bioactive compounds that provide immunomodulatory effects. This invaluable property has sparked scientific interest and increased global consumption of these mushrooms due to their potential therapeutic benefits.
Each species of medicinal mushrooms contains these immunomodulatory compounds, among which polysaccharides rich in beta-glucans and low in alpha-glucans stand out.
A recent scientific study evaluated the individual immunomodulatory capacity of three species of fungi: Reishi ( Ganoderma lucidum ), Shiitake ( Lentinula edodes ) and Maitake ( Grifola frondosa ) and of various combinations of these three species.
Each of the fungi studied was found to have a high immunomodulatory potential, but it was also shown that, due to a synergistic effect, combinations of the three species have even greater effects.
This study demonstrates the therapeutic potential of medicinal mushrooms and the feasibility of increasing their action through synergistic effects of scientifically formulated combinations.
